Part A - Important Questions

Part A: Important Questions

Summary

Our lives are usually so taken up with distractions that most of us never consider the fundamental questions. Our many immediate needs like food and shelter, other pressing demands such as the need for employment and our many financial concerns, or our insatiable desire for entertainment and other forms of novelty helps to ensure that we give little attention to considering our needs that go beyond the material world.

Important Questions to Consider

The important questions that hardly get asked would otherwise compel us to consider these spiritual, human needs.

These questions include:

  • Who am I?

  • What is my purpose for existence?

  • What it is that I am really seeking?

Rare are the questions asked; rarer still do they get answered.

A careful assessment of our personal experience will verify that what is most important to us is our relationships. However, we spend little time considering how to live our relationships well. In fact, we tend to “use” others as means to personal fulfillment, but using persons can never lead to authentic fulfillment.

As we will see, all of the important questions revolve around our relationships with others; most importantly, our relationship with God. There is one right way and many wrong ways to live these relationships. God, through His Church, reveals to us the way to find fulfillment by showing us how to live all our relationships rightly.
